Sundance State Bank Spearfish Branch Partners with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to Award $8,750 to Spearfish Nutrition Site

Spearfish, S.D. – March 10, 2026 – Sundance State Bank’s Spearfish Branch, in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines), recently awarded an $8,750 grant to the Spearfish Nutrition Site through the Member Impact Fund. The grant was presented during a recent check presentation in Spearfish.

Sundance State Bank contributed $2,500, which was matched by $6,250 from FHLB Des Moines through the Member Impact Fund, a program designed to support community development initiatives.

“The Spearfish Nutrition Site provides an essential service for older adults in our community,” said Jerome Greger, Spearfish Branch Manager of Sundance State Bank. “We are proud to partner with FHLB Des Moines to support their mission and help ensure seniors have access to nutritious meals and important social connections.”

The Spearfish Nutrition Site is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of older adults through nutritious meals, nutrition education, socialization, and supportive services. The organization serves approximately 80 meals each day, five days a week, through congregate dining at their Spearfish location and home-delivered meals through the Meals on Wheels program.

With rising grocery and operational costs, the grant will help offset expenses related to food, staffing, and daily operations so the organization can continue providing essential meal services to seniors in the Spearfish community.

FHLB Des Moines provides funding solutions to more than 1,200 members to support mortgage lending, economic development, and affordable housing in the communities they serve. The Member Impact Fund provides matching grant donations to strengthen the ability of nonprofit and government organizations to support community needs.

“The Member Impact Fund is designed to help our members champion the organizations that make a real difference in their communities,” said Kris Williams, president and CEO of FHLB Des Moines. “By partnering with our members, we’re able to multiply resources and support their vital work as they continue to strengthen opportunities for the people they serve.”

Since its launch in 2023, the Member Impact Fund has provided more than $83 million in grants, generating over $113 million in combined support for affordable housing and community development initiatives.
